Workshops and Instruction

In the Fall of 2008 while working as editor for Zeros 2 Heroes Media I traveled to Fredericton, New Brunswick and initiated a learning platform for literacy called
Comix 101 utilizing comic books and social networking. Comix 101 garnered the 2009 Best Digital Learning Initiative
Pop Vox Award .

Since 2005 I have been working as an educator with a number of organizations including Learning Through the Arts, Arts Umbrella and ArtStarts in schools teaching core curriculum to K-7 and secondary school students using cartooning as an instructional method.

In the Spring of 2004 I was asked by Emily Carr University of Art and Design to create and implement a six-week Continuing Studies course designed to instruct adults the history, methods and techniques of the graphic novel. This long-running class is offered in Fall, Spring and Summer semesters.
